Marc Foisy and the Bohemian Orchestra's new EP
by Florence Gagnon
The ambiance was already festive when I arrived at the intersection of Mount-Royal and St-Denis street last Wednesday. As I locked my bicycle to the nearest parking meter, I noticed the vivacious expression of the young man near the doorway. Marc Foisy most certainly had every reason to be proud. The Quai des Brumes, a very popular bar in Montreal, was filled to capacity, yet, people were still gravitating towards the event to see what all the fuss was about.
These five musicians that breed sincerity in their allure make it no less obvious that Marc Foisy and the Bohemian Orchestra are worth the detour. We were all eagerly waiting for the band to come on stage and give us a taste of their new EP, and then we just kept wanting more! Marc Foisy, Daniel Moranville, David Aubé, Vincent Pelletier, and Nicolas Radeschi have offered us inspiring and high-spirited music. Smiling is simply inevitable. The EP launch party was the place to be, where everyone seemed to know each other as they exchanged positive feedback about the event.
As I chatted with the people I was surrounded by, it was interesting to discover the numerous connections that united the audience. We shared friends, work colleagues, neighbours... as if we already knew one another.
On such a great night, Marc Foisy and the Bohemian Orchestra unified its audience through charming folk music and captivating rhythms that left the people fully committed to these five talented musicians.
